Cake Prices

Each cake is individually priced, and this is something we would discuss at the initial consultation. There are many factors that go into the cost of a cake. Below is some information to give you an idea how much a cake might cost. Feel free to contact us for an actual quote for your cake.

 

In general, buttercream-covered cakes run about $1.50 per serving, and fondant-covered cakes are about $2.00 per serving. Custom designs or unusually complicated set-ups have additional costs (see below).

 

So how big is a serving and how many of them are in each cake? It depends how you slice it, literally. Below are two different charts with some basic serving size information, as well as commonly used cutting charts. Please note that a serving size is usually 1" x 2" x 4" for wedding cakes. Party cakes are less intricate and sliced differently, so they are often less expensive. Traditionally, the top tier of a wedding cake is saved for the first anniversary, and should not be factored in when calculating servings or cost.

This means that, for example, the price for a 3-tiered, simple fondant-covered wedding cake would be about $120, and would serve approximately 60 guests. (Three round tiers, 6", 8", and 10". Traditionally, the top tier is saved for the first anniversary and isn't factored in when calculating servings.)

 

Additional Charges:

	Hexagon, petal, or heart-shaped tiers, add $10 per tier.
	Topsy-turvy tiers, add $10 per tier.
	Royal icing, fondant, or gum paste flowers, add $20 per tier.
	Fondant bows or draping, or intricate scrollwork or lace, add $20 per tier.
	Fresh flower arrangements, add $15 per tier, plus the cost of flowers.
	Set-up and delivery charge, add $10 for Moscow/Pullman, or $30 for multi-tiered wedding cakes.
	Refundable deposit of $75 for cake plates, stands, and pillars.
